Consultation

Aside from seeing clients in my private practice, I am offering professional consultation to therapists. Support and connection are such integral parts of running a successful practice and they help to keep us grounded and present within ourselves as therapists.

The Emerging Therapist

Led By
Laurel Connell, LMFT and Jean Lampert, LMFT

An 8 week Consultation Group for New Therapists Beginning a Private Practice

Our intention for offering a consultation group to therapists who are just starting their private practices is to provide the support we wished we would have received we were newly licensed and opening our practices. We want to offer support, wisdom, experience, and a place for nourishment and replenishment to newer therapists. Our intent is to support the process of becoming a more confident, embodied therapist, answering the question “How am I BEING as a therapist?"

We will explore themes such as:

~Connecting with your own body and emotions to support the bodies and emotions of clients

~Pacing your work day and week

~Recognizing when you are overriding your own needs

~ Developing Self Compassion and growing your awareness around Compassion Fatigue

~ Building a grounded and embodied foundation for yourself as a mental health professional

Jean Lampert is a long time friend and colleague. She and I have known each other for the past 15 years, as we worked together at a local hospice agency as MFT interns. We have supported each other through licensing, the early days of private practices, and providing one another with consultation. We have supported one another to grow and develop as open hearted therapists.

Jean Lampert, LMFT, has been in private practice since 2012, working primarily with adults who struggle with anxiety, grief, trauma and stress related disorders, and those healing from developmental trauma. She is trained in EMDR and is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and since 2018, she has served as a Somatic Experiencing Assistant in trainings across the country.
